The Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) received a delegation from the Faculty of Applied Arts at Benha University, headed by Prof. Dr. Osama Ali Neda, Dean of the Faculty. The delegation included Dr. Sally Raouf Soliman, Executive Director of the Textile Technology Laboratory at the Faculty of Applied Arts, and Dr. Heba Atef, Quality Manager of the laboratory.
The delegation was received by Eng. Mohamed Hassan Abdel Halim, Executive Director of the Egyptian Accreditation Council, in the context of the accreditation of the Textile Testing Laboratory – Faculty of Applied Arts, Benha University, in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 17025, which specifies the general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
During the meeting, Eng. Mohamed Hassan Abdel Halim officially handed over the EGAC accreditation certificate to Prof. Dr. Osama Ali Neda, Dean of the Faculty, emphasizing that this accreditation reflects the laboratory’s technical competence, commitment to quality, and compliance with internationally recognized standards for testing laboratories.
The Executive Director of EGAC highlighted the Council’s ongoing role in supporting accredited laboratories within Egyptian universities, enhancing their technical capabilities, and promoting international recognition of their testing services, in a manner that contributes to the development of scientific research, education, and community service.
For their part, the delegation of the Faculty of Applied Arts expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the Egyptian Accreditation Council in strengthening the national quality infrastructure and supporting academic and research institutions in achieving accreditation. They also emphasized that obtaining ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation represents a significant milestone for the Textile Technology Laboratory, reinforcing its role in serving the educational process, scientific research, and the textile industry in accordance with international best practices.
This accreditation comes within EGAC’s broader strategy to enhance confidence in the competence of Egyptian testing laboratories and to ensure the reliability and credibility of their results at both the national and international levels.
