As part of its mandate to strengthen the national quality infrastructure and enhance confidence in testing and inspection results in accordance with internationally recognized standards, the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) conducted a re-assessment visit to the Toy Safety Laboratory of the Industrial Laboratories Sector at the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) – Ain Sokhna Branch.
The re-assessment aimed to verify the laboratory’s continued compliance with accreditation requirements and relevant international standards, as well as to assess the effectiveness of its quality management system, the technical competence of its personnel, and the suitability of testing equipment and facilities, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of test results.
The re-assessment activities included the performance of twelve (12) tests within the accredited scope. During the visit, the EGAC assessment team reviewed technical procedures, quality records, internal quality control measures, and the overall implementation of accreditation requirements, demonstrating the laboratory’s readiness and its effective and sustainable application of the applicable standards.
The outcomes of the visit confirmed the laboratory’s high level of technical competence and its commitment to quality assurance practices, contributing to increased confidence among stakeholders in the testing services provided and ensuring the safety of products placed on the local market, particularly children’s toys with direct implications for consumer safety.
The visit concluded with the successful completion of the re-assessment, reaffirming the commitment of the Industrial Laboratories at GOEIC to maintaining accreditation requirements and supporting consumer protection, trade facilitation, and the competitiveness of products at both national and international levels.
