As part of its new strategic vision to expand horizontally and enhance its international presence, the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) today welcomed a high-level Russian delegation at its headquarters. The delegation included representatives from the Russian Embassy in Cairo and several Russian government certification bodies authorized to issue technical regulations and certification.
During the meeting, discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between EGAC and Russian certification bodies, with the aim of recognizing certificates issued by these bodies in Egypt. The meeting also explored the possibility of accrediting a number of these Russian organizations through EGAC, particularly in the fields of product certification and Halal certification, which are witnessing growing demand in both local and international markets.
Eng. Mohamed Hassan Abdel Halim, EGAC’s Executive Director, emphasized that the council continuously seeks to expand its network of accredited bodies internationally, reinforcing Egypt’s position as a regional reference point in quality and accreditation, and supporting international recognition of certificates issued by Egyptian organizations.
It is worth noting that EGAC has already accredited several organizations in Russia. Currently, the total number of foreign organizations accredited by EGAC has reached 83 bodies across 23 countries worldwide. This reflects EGAC’s commitment to promoting a culture of quality and accreditation internationally, supporting national institutions, and enhancing their global competitiveness.
