As part of its national role as the sole official accreditation body in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) continues its efforts to strengthen the national quality infrastructure and support the competence of conformity assessment bodies across various sectors. In this context, EGAC has granted accreditation to the Mechanical Testing Laboratory and the Material Properties and Strength Laboratory at the Faculty of Engineering – Mansoura University, in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.

This accreditation was granted following the successful fulfillment of all accreditation requirements by both laboratories, including the implementation of an effective quality management system, the demonstration of technical competence to perform testing activities, the availability of qualified technical personnel, and the provision of appropriate infrastructure and calibrated equipment traceable to internationally recognized standards. These elements collectively ensure the accuracy, reliability, and validity of the testing results issued by the accredited laboratories.

The granting of this accreditation represents formal recognition by EGAC of the technical competence of both laboratories and their ability to perform testing activities in accordance with internationally recognized standards. This achievement enhances confidence in the results issued by these laboratories at both the national and international levels and supports their acceptance by industrial, research, and regulatory entities.

This accreditation also reflects EGAC’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Egypt’s national quality infrastructure by ensuring the competence, impartiality, and reliability of conformity assessment bodies. Such efforts contribute to improving the quality of technical services, enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian institutions, supporting the national economy, facilitating international trade, and promoting global recognition of test and calibration results issued by EGAC-accredited bodies.

Furthermore, this achievement demonstrates the commitment of the Faculty of Engineering – Mansoura University to implementing international best practices in engineering testing and continuously developing its research and educational laboratories in accordance with globally recognized standards.
