The Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) is participating in Africa Health ExCon 2026, the largest healthcare event on the African continent, bringing together leading experts, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and strategic partners to discuss the future of healthcare and promote quality, innovation, and sustainability across the region.
As part of its participation, EGAC is organizing a specialized workshop entitled “The Power of Accreditation: Innovation – Trust – Sustainability” on 17 June 2026 at Al Manara International Conference Center in Cairo. The workshop aims to highlight the critical role of accreditation in strengthening healthcare quality, enhancing confidence in conformity assessment activities, and supporting organizations in achieving internationally recognized excellence.
The workshop will be delivered by a distinguished panel of accreditation and quality experts, including:
- Eng. Mohamed Hassan Abdel Halim, Executive Director of the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC)
- Dr. Basma Taha Abdel Baky, Director of the Proficiency Testing Department, EGAC
- Prof. Hazem Sharaf El-Din Hafez, Expert in Accreditation Systems, Management, and Institutional Quality, and Member of EGAC’s Higher Committee
- Prof. Dina Adel Fouad, Professor of Clinical Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, and Technical Assessor at EGAC
- Dr. Walaa Mohamed Kandil, General Manager of Medical Laboratories and Blood Banks Accreditation Department, EGAC
The session will explore how accreditation serves as a strategic tool for fostering innovation, strengthening trust, and supporting sustainable development within the healthcare sector. It will also demonstrate how organizations can move beyond simple compliance toward internationally recognized excellence through the implementation of accredited conformity assessment activities.
