The Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) announced the successful accreditation of the Genome Research and Equine Disease Diagnostics Center at the Animal Health Research Institute, Agricultural Research Center, in accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017. The accreditation was granted after the Center demonstrated full compliance with all technical and managerial requirements.
This achievement reflects EGAC’s commitment to strengthening national laboratories and enhancing their technical competence in alignment with international best practices, particularly in fields of significant importance to animal health and veterinary diagnostics.
The accreditation scope includes several critical and highly specialized diagnostic tests for equine diseases, including tests related to Glanders and Dourine, thereby supporting Egypt’s capabilities in early detection and control of diseases affecting the equine sector.
The management of the Animal Health Research Institute expressed its appreciation to EGAC for its continuous support in advancing laboratory quality systems, noting that this accreditation represents a major milestone in enhancing diagnostic capabilities that serve both the agricultural and animal health sectors.
