With the grace of God, the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) has successfully passed the joint peer evaluation conducted by the African Accreditation Cooperation (AFRAC) and the Arab Accreditation Cooperation (ARAC).
The closing meeting witnessed high praise from the evaluation team, which included 16 members representing Italy, Argentina, Mexico, Malaysia, Kenya, South Africa, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, and Jordan, bringing together outstanding expertise in peer evaluation and accreditation activities.
The evaluation team confirmed EGAC’s success and commended the high level of professionalism demonstrated by the council’s staff and quality system, noting that EGAC’s accumulated experience has reached an exceptionally advanced level.
The team recommended the renewal of EGAC’s international recognition for four years, until 2029, in seven accreditation schemes:
Testing laboratories, Calibration laboratories, Medical laboratories, Inspection bodies, Management System Certification, Product Certification, and Personnel Certification.
The recognition has also been extended to include the new scheme of Reference Material Producers (RMP), GLOBAL GAP (Good Agricultural Practices), and some sub-scopes of Management System Certification such as FSSC and ISMS.
This achievement represents an outstanding milestone, particularly as the joint evaluation included a large number of experts across eight accreditation fields.
EGAC continues to play a vital role in supporting Egyptian industry, enhancing the competitiveness of national products, and promoting intra-African and international trade, reinforcing Egypt’s position on the regional and global accreditation map.
