Dr. Ahmed El-Manshawy, President of Assiut University, announced that the Clinical Pathology Laboratories at the South Egypt Cancer Institute have successfully received an extension of their accreditation from the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC). The renewed accreditation is valid from October 17, 2025, until August 12, 2027, after fulfilling all requirements of the international standard ISO 15189:2022.
The extension covers the laboratories of Flow Cytometry, Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Tumor Markers & Hormones, and Cytogenetics, in addition to the first-time accreditation of the Histocompatibility Laboratory (HLA). This represents a significant advancement in expanding the scope of specialized diagnostic and laboratory services provided by the institute to cancer patients in Upper Egypt.
Dr. Ahmed El-Manshawy extended his congratulations to the staff and management of the Clinical Pathology Department at the South Egypt Cancer Institute, praising their scientific and technical excellence in diagnostics and patient follow-up, and their ongoing commitment to the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
