Within the framework of the pivotal role played by the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) in supporting national industry and enhancing confidence in conformity assessment systems, the “Proudly Made in Egypt” Mark Granting Unit, established within the Industrial Modernization Centre (IMC), has successfully renewed the validity of its accreditation granted by EGAC in the field of product process certification, in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 17065:2015.
The renewal of accreditation followed the first periodic surveillance visit conducted by EGAC’s assessment team during December 2025, as part of the Council’s continuous monitoring mechanisms aimed at verifying the sustained compliance of accredited conformity assessment bodies with international standards, and ensuring the highest levels of competence, impartiality, and credibility.
During the assessment activities, the EGAC Assessment Committee carried out several on-site field visits in coordination with the assessment team of the Mark Granting Unit. These visits included the evaluation of industrial establishments applying for the “Proudly Made in Egypt” mark, as well as a thorough review of the unit’s evaluation procedures, decision-making mechanisms, and compliance with approved quality and technical requirements.
In addition, the committee assessed the quality management systems and procedures implemented within the Mark Granting Unit, including operational management systems, document control, complaint and appeal handling mechanisms, and measures ensuring integrity, impartiality, and independence, all in full alignment with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17065:2015.
Based on the outcomes of the assessment and surveillance activities, the EGAC Assessment Committee issued its decision to maintain the validity of the accreditation granted to the “Proudly Made in Egypt” Mark Granting Unit, confirming the unit’s full compliance with accreditation requirements and its continued capability to perform its functions efficiently and professionally in accordance with internationally recognized standards.
It is worth noting that the “Proudly Made in Egypt” Mark Granting Unit originally obtained its official accreditation from EGAC in the field of ISO/IEC 17065:2015 in October 2024, for a period of four years. Accordingly, the certificates and marks issued by the unit enjoy both national and international recognition, thereby enhancing market confidence in Egyptian industrial products, supporting their competitiveness, and reinforcing the application of quality and compliance with international standards.
This achievement further underscores the significance of the national accreditation system managed by the Egyptian Accreditation Council, and its vital role in supporting state initiatives aimed at advancing national industry, promoting local products, and strengthening the credibility of national quality marks, reflecting the true value and quality of Egyptian products in local, regional, and international markets.
