Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) is the only accreditation body in Egypt in accordance as per its conception.

Since its establishment to date, the Council has been keen to evaluate its level to achieve its establishment, which is the evaluation and accreditation of conformity assessment bodies in accordance with international standards applied globally.

Accordingly, Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) has sought since its inception to date to reach the highest level of those standards.

Accordingly, Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) obtained international recognition from several international, regional and Arab organizations, which would maximize the strength of the accreditation certificates issued by the Council locally, regionally and internationally, as per the agreements conducted between the Council and those organizations.

The accreditation granted by the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) in any field is an accreditation from that international organization, which makes it easier for service recipients to obtain an accreditation certificate from international organizations inside Egypt without the need to travel and incur additional expenses to obtain evaluations from those organizations.

The certificates issued by the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) include two accreditation logos, the logo of the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) and the logo of the international accreditation organizations in the same field, which makes the bodies obtaining accreditation from the Council have the ability to compete in the local and international market and accept those certificates globally

Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) was established by Presedentional Decree No. 312 of 1996 to become the only national authority in Egypt to assess and accredit conformity assessment bodies, which are (Test Laboratories/Calibration Laboratories/Inspection Bodies /Quality Management System Certification Bodies/Medical Testing Laboratories/Product Certification Bodies/Technical Proficiency Testing Service Providers/Persons Certification Bodies/Halal Certification Bodies /Forensic Laboratories/Biobank Laboratories).

Presidential Decree No. 248 of 2006 was also issued to reorganize Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) and to grant the Council technical, administrative and financial independence to evaluate and accredit conformity assessment bodies in Egypt. The authority of the National Accreditation Council comes from the authority granted to it by the state.

The National Accreditation Council is a government agency affiliated to the Ministry of Trade and Industry and a non-profit organization.

Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) is an internationally recognized by the global and regional accreditation organizations and its representatives for accreditation in Egypt. The organizations are:

3. Arab Accreditation Organization (ARAC)
4. African Accreditation Cooperation (AFRAC)
5. International Halal Accreditation Forum (IHAF)

Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) is an international entity on Egyptian territory, which can activate its role and urge all state institutions to rise up and follow the quality and accreditation system through Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) in order to obtain the international accreditation certificates in order to improve the quality system and raise the efficiency of the administrative and technical apparatus and achieve the vision of His Excellency the President To improve the quality and accreditation system.
